2026-09-17 Voith donates $8,000 to nonprofit programs supporting students in York and Adams counties

YORK, Pa. Voith is proud to award Bermudian Springs High School Robotics Club and the York County History Center $4,000 each in #VoithCares donations. The donations will support educational programs for students in York and Adams counties.

#VoithCares annually awards financial support to nonprofits where Voith employees personally volunteer their time. Seth Smith, Manager of Engineering at Voith Hydro in North America, nominated the Bermudian Springs High School Robotics Club, in York Springs, Pa., for the #VoithCares program.

Through public exhibits and programming, the York County History Center has long highlighted Voith’s manufacturing history in York, Pa. spanning back to its predecessor companies, S. Morgan Smith and  Allis-Chalmers in 1877. Thomas Ort, Senior Engineer at Voith Hydro in North America, nominated the York County History Center’s Traveling Trunk program in York, Pa. The donation will be used to create a “traveling trunk” full of hands-on materials for History Center staff to take to schools to teach students about decarbonization, STEM, and manufacturing.

The #VoithCares program was launched in 2022. Through the program, Voith gives back to nonprofits in local communities in which they have a presence while also supporting the volunteer efforts of Voith employees who personally donate their time. In the 2025/2026 fiscal year, 12 nonprofits from around the world received donations.

As part of the #VoithCares program, Voith and the Hanns Voith Foundation annually award financial support to a select number of employee-nominated projects and nonprofits, in which the employees also personally volunteer. Nominated projects must fall into the categories of digitalization; technology, innovation and decarbonization; or social causes. Projects selected benefit children, youth, young adults or those who are disadvantaged.
